2016 Android Smartphones: Google Pixel, LG V20, Galaxy S7 Edge, Motorola Moto Z
A slew of smartphones was launched this year, and many of these phones have impressive features that entice many customers.
Here are some of the best Android smartphones of 2016.
Google Pixel
Google replaced the Nexus line of smartphones with the Pixel brand. The company launched two mobile phones: Pixel and the Pixel XL in early October and the handsets have top-end features.
The 5-inch phone has a display resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The Google Pixel comes running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and 4 GB of RAM. Google’s latest smartphone is equipped with a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing and 8-megapixel front facing cameras.
The Google Pixel has a starting price tag of $649 in the United States.
LG V20
The LG V20 announced in early September is the successor to the LG V10. The LG V20 boasts a 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM run the LG device. The mobile phone comes with a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
The full retail price of the LG V20 on Best Buy is $829.99.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S7 Edge along with the Galaxy S7 during the Mobile World Congress in February this year. The failure of the Galaxy Note 7 means that the Galaxy S7 Edge is currently the bigger flagship of 2016.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has a 5.5-inch screen with a display resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The international variant of the phone comes with an Exynos processor while the U.S. version of the Galaxy S7 Edge has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Both versions include 4 GB of RAM.
The Samsung device includes 12-megapixel rear-facing and 5-megapixel front cameras.
Best Buy is selling the Galaxy S7 Edge for $794.99 without any contract.
Motorola Moto Z
Unveiled in June this year, the Moto Z is the flagship phone of 2016 for Motorola. In the United States, the Moto Z is available as Moto Z-Droid via Verizon Wireless.
The phone has a 5.5-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM boost the Moto Z. It has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Customers can the grab the phone from Verizon for $624 from Verizon’s official website.
OnePlus 3
Revealed in mid-June, the OnePlus 3 is the successor to the OnePlus 2. The phone sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
Running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, the OnePlus 3 is one of the handfuls of phones to include 6 GB of RAM. The phone has 16-megapixel rear-facing and 8-megapixel front cameras.
The OnePlus 3 is available at a starting price of $399, which makes it one of the cheapest top-end smartphones available in the market.
