in GeForce RTX 3080 you will get the massive 50-80% boost in performance over the RTX 2080 ti at the same price point and while we would have liked to see the prices go down to where the Pascal 10-series equivalents would have sat, we can now confirm that this really is the biggest generational leap in PC graphics we’ve seen in years – perhaps ever.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Price
the founder edition of GeForce RTX 3080 available at the price of starting at $699(649 pounds) from September 17 However, as with any major graphics card launch, there will be dozens of aftermarket graphics cards from companies like MSI, Asus, Zotac, and more.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 features and chipset
the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphic card based on the new Nvidia ampere graphics architecture, which brings huge improvements to both raw performance and this GeForce RTX 3080 is very power efficient.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is a high-end desktop graphics card based on the Ampere generation. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is being pitched as a replacement for both the Nvidia Titan RTX and the RTX 2080 Ti at the same time.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Founders Edition now claims the top spot on our GPU benchmarks hierarchy. It uses the big GA102 chip and offers 10,496 shaders and 24 GB GDDR6X graphics memory. Compared to the slower RTX 3080, the 3090 offers 10 – 20% higher gaming performance, but only above 4k. Still, it has not enough power for 8k gaming at maximum detail settings. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is rated at 350 Watt but the power efficiency is still quite good.
Short summary on Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090
The short summary of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is much as you’d expect. It’s theoretically about 20% faster than the RTX 3080 based on specs alone, with over twice the memory. The extra VRAM doesn’t really matter much for most games unless you’re running at 8K (maybe 5K), but it can prove useful for some professional workloads.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 also requires a beefy CPU to get the most out of the card (we’ll be running some additional tests in the coming days to show that, but you can get some idea of what to expect from our RTX 3080 CPU scaling article). This is very much a GPU designed for 4K ultra gaming, and at those settings, it’s 12% faster than the 3080 on average in our existing test suite, and 14% faster in our bonus test suite. Drop down to 1440p ultra, and 3090 is only 8% faster than the 3080. If you’re running at 1080p? Don’t bother, seriously.
