When it comes to mobile devices and technology, it seems as if every man and his dog has a tablet or iPhone these days. If you have an iPad or phone and you want to make sure it works the best it can for years to come, you need to look after it and know how to fix issues when they arise. And today that’s exactly what we are going to do.
Although in this list we might not cover things such as not being able to get your ipad air 2019 case onto the device, we will be fixing some very common iPad issues which a lot of us deal with now and again.
1. Software can’t be downloaded
One of the most common issues which always ole devices can face us that a new software update won’t download onto the device. This is not a worry and it is simply due to the volume of updates which come through and some issues with connection. All you need to do for this is force reset your iPad and restart it, and the issue should be resolved. To force reset your iPad you need to hold the home and power button until it switches off. Once you turn it back on the problem will likely be sorted.
2. Stuck rebooting
If your iPad is running very low in battery and it is struggling to turn itself on, it can be stuck trying to turn itself back on and shutting down because it has no power. If you face this problem it is impossible for you to use the ‘turn it off and on again’ method and something else needs to be done. Plug your iPad into a power source and then force reset the iPad using the buttons we discussed earlier. This will allow the iPad to start up again with enough power and break the cycle.
3. Freezing
One of the worst issues we can face, and have faced with any computing device is when it freezes. You might be in the middle of a simple job and suddenly the screen won’t respond and it can be a risk if you have unsaved work. For the iPad, if the screen freeze you need to use iTunes on your computer to put the iPad into factory settings and restart it. Once this is done make sure that you don’t use too many apps at the same time to avoid it happening again.
4. Wi-Fi is not accessible
Sometimes the issues we face on our devices are super simple and also super annoying. Wi-Fi is something we all use every day and when we can’t connect for some reason it can be a real pain. If your iPad doesn’t want to connect, there are several different steps you will want to take. The first thing you can do is check that your router isn’t facing any issues and you can do this by turning your router off, waiting for 10 seconds, and turning it back on. Usually, this approach will solve the issue, but if not then the next stage will be to do with the device. Turn Wi-Fi off and on again on your iPad, and also try forgetting your network and reconnecting.
5.iTunes doesn’t recognise iPad
Sometimes the issue you have will be between iTunes and the iPad, and if iTunes doesn’t recognize your device you will need to do a few different things. The most common cause of this is a faulty USB cable. If this is the case try another cable and this should fix the issue. If not, it could be something to do with iTunes. Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes and this should solve the problem and make life much easier.
6.iMessage problems
If you have an iPhone and an iPad too, it is important for you to find some synergy between the two and this can be done by syncing up iMessages. You can read your messages and send from both devices and this can allow you to continue a conversation no matter what device you currently have with you. If you are having some issues with your iMessage in iPad, you will need to reboot your iPad and see if this helps. If not, go into your message settings and make sure it is turned on correctly.
7.iPad camera crashes
Because the iPad is a much larger device than the phone, sometimes it can face more issues when it comes to the camera. The iPad camera isn’t usually as good as your phone camera anyway, but it can be a handy tool to have around. If your camera app has already been open in the background and now crashes, you need to quit it by double tapping the home button and swiping up. If it still has issues go into your settings and make sure that there aren’t any restrictions on using the camera.
8.iPad AirDrop issue
An AirDrop is a tool which is a godsend when it comes to work and home. If you have some documents which are too big to send through an email, you can use AirDrop to transfer from device to device with ease. There are sometimes some issues using AirDrop and if you are having problems, you might need to try something more. Click on the control center on your device and check if AirDrop is turned on. Head to settings and make sure that AirDrop is set to ‘Everyone’ as this might be why you are facing issues. This should easily fix the problem and in no time you should be back to sharing files again.
9. Interface locked in portrait or landscape
One of the most annoying things that can happen when on your iPad is trying to turn your screen to watch a video on YouTube or Netflix and it is locked in the wrong orientation. There is a quick fix for this which usually works, and simply lock your screen and open it up again and it should reset itself.
