WhatsApp may soon block screenshots of chats and other updates inside

If you have a habit of taking screenshots of your WhatsApp chats for future reference, then this piece of information is definitely for you. As per the new authentication feature, if enabled will prevent other users from taking screenshots.

Recently, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is developing an authentication feature for Android users with which it will allow users to lock the application using their smartphone’s fingerprint sensor.

WABetaInfo said, “We do not know why WhatsApp decided to prevent screenshots when a fingerprint is enabled.”

It also came up with a screenshot which reads, “Fingerprint security – When enabled, the fingerprint is required to open WhatsApp and conversation screenshots are blocked. You can still reply to messages from notifications and answer calls if WhatsApp is locked’’.

Apart from WhatsApp, video steaming service Netflix also prevents its users from taking screenshots of its videos.

Apart from this privacy authentication feature, the Facebook-owned messaging app is looking to roll out animated stickers and doodles which may look similar to Instagram’s doodle drawer.

Recently, Services of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp — three major social networking sites — which had been down across the globe, including India, for more than an hour, are back again, according to users.

Users on Twitter on Sunday afternoon started complaining that they were unable to use social media networking platforms. While Facebook and Instagram were both inaccessible, WhatsApp messages weren’t being sent or received. Users of Facebook’s main services took to Twitter to share that they are facing the problem.
